I am in need of a sewing machine because I have just moved and couldn’t bring my own. But choosing one out of the various brand is quite difficult and the prices is quite similar.

There have been lots of discussions of this topic. Take a look about the forum and see what we’ve said recently. And have a read of my sewing machine buying essay: http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk/On%20the%20care%20&%20Feeding%20of%20sewing%20machines/on_the_choosing.htm
You need to be aware of your budget, and how to get good value for money.

I did quite a lot of shopping around (on the Internet for convenience) for my current sewing machine. You can read about it on my blog, where there is also a post on What to Look for in a New Sewing Machine. (I don’t know how to add links on these comments, so I have just copied and pasted them.)

I hope this helps.
