So I’m making this formal dress from NewLook pattern 6805 (letter E) but I wasn’t able to sew the neckline correctly ):

The neckline is round but should be more triangular in shape…
I’m hoping that if I take it to the drycleaners, it would look more pronounced.
However if that doesn’t work, I want to hide it with a faux bow, a collar, ribbon flower corsage or perhaps some jewellery.

Any other ideas, opinions or tips?

BTW, the fabric is taffeta, 100% polyester.

Thank you for reading!

I’m sorry I don’t have advice on how to hide or fix but I have to say that I think it looks great.

Granted, it is a little bit more rounded than the look you wanted but I can’t see that there is anything to hide. I think it looks great. Maybe a lariat necklace would offer a similar effect as a v-neckline, bringing the eye down?

    Either way, great job!

How did you sew and turn the neckline? To get the V might just be a case of resewing a few inches…

    Thank you MinkeyMonkey!

When I wear the dress, the lining peeks over the neckline and I can’t get it to stay on the otherside no matter how much I iron it.

Did you under stitch it? And did you press it to the inside correctly before sewing it together at the waist?
