Ok so my mum is getting married next month, woo! Its a small laid back wedding and I am the only bridesmaid…ive found this amazing dress, that would be absolutely perfect, just buy it I hear you ask? Its three grand :/ so! I am going to try and make it, or some kind of version of it! Ive sort of made a bit of a pattern but pattern making was never my strong point! So…if anyone has any pattern suggestions or knows of a pattern I can use, please let me know, I would be soooo grateful! You can check out the dress here (pictures and video from different angles) http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/111770t
Just in case the link doesn’t work, I am attempting to copy the Bianca floral-print silk-chiffon gown, its a long length gown, the floral is a very pretty green and off white!

Maybe the V8241 pattern from vogue is a good one to start with? Pattern making isn’t my strong point either but combining different patterns always gave me a good result so far. Good luck making the dress!

Beautiful pattern on the fabric. I am partial to same type of print. When I make clothing from a picture, I take a similar pattern, draw it out on tissue paper (you can get the inch graph tissue at a fabric store) and then redesign from there. There are so many patterns out there that I am sure you can find one very similar. I noticed the dress in the picture was made out of silk. If you are not an experienced sewer, use a cheaper version of a silky fabric, because real silk is NOT forgiving if you make a mistake or drop water on it. If you were in my state I would have loved to make this for. I enjoy sewing and now that I am retired (as of Feb. 2011) I have made my hobby into an at home job doing alterations and sewing for people, even contracting from a bridal shop. My real joy is just plain old creating. Good luck with your dress.

go try to make it from standard pattern. i think A-line shape is suit for this style. on the waist part, u can use elastic thread so u can get the baloon shape for ur top part..
this is nice chosen^^ am sure u can make it and congratz for u and ur mom^^
