Hello! This is my first crack at doing this so its quite likely I am being a complete wally, but any help or advice would be much appreciated!
I have downloaded this pattern – I think its no.128. And i am confused about what bits are the front of the skirt and which are the back.
Piece no. 4 looks like the back, because neither edge is straight, which suggests you need two pieces to make up the back of the skirt, which is what the instructions say, but there are no markings to indicate the slit or vent on the back of the skirt?
Piece no. 3 looks like the front of the skirt, because its supposed to be cut on a fold, and has a straight edge, and a line that says “centre fold”, which looks in the right place – but then what are the extra bits and lines for, which are called “Facing fold”? Are those markings for the vent stuff?
Anyway as you can see I’m quite confused, and if someone could just point me in the direction of what I am doing wrong – gosh it would be just GREAT!! x

maybe the downloaded pattern is #117 instead of 128? they are similar. the skirt of 128 are pieces 8 (front on fold) and 9 (rear, with vent), but for 117 it’s piece 3 (front, closed by buttons) and 4 (rear, seam but no vent). does your pattern have raglan or normal inset sleeves?

Ah that would make sense… they are inset sleeves. I’ve sort of been making it up as I go on – found a tutorial on here as to how to create a vent and have been improvising – fingers crossed!
Wish I had chosen something simpler now!!
