I have looked at the major brands, although it is possible I may have missed something. Any one know of a pattern that could be used for boys sweat pants. I would need a size 7 boys (in Canada/US store sizes).

Thanks in advance!

Suggestion, how about using a pull on pants pattern with elastic waist, have done this for my grandson he likes pockets, inseam and cargo type. I went down a size but used the length of the size 7 because using knit it stretches, prewash the fabric.

Part of the problem is that regular sweatpants lately don’t have the elastic around the bottom cuff and I find they fit better with them. I am not sure what kinds of adjustments I would have to make (if any) to the bottom cuffs to a regular cargo pants pattern.Any ideas???

I use a combo of elastic and zippers in grandson’s pant legs, glutton for punishment, just kidding. The methods below should be the easier method. Check the width on a pair of existing sweat pants, you might be surprised that they are about the same width of regular pant leg. This takes longer to read than actually do. Same method for elastic on cuffs as waist, leave pant legs longer after elastic is inserted it will make the pant leg shorter, hope this explanation is clearer than mud. Thanks, although your first link wouldn’t work for me. I think I may have to take the cargo pant pattern I have for him and try that with sweatpant material and see what happens. Worst case scenario, he has an extra pair of around the house pants. I really wish there were more patterns for males around!
