I’m a very experienced sewer’, but I’ve never made a dress with a foundation garment. I’m making VOGUE V1108 and it has the said foundation garment. Can this be made out of the same fabric as the dress ? I would be grateful for any advise as this is a paid job for customer and there is no room for error. thanks

There’s really no detail about how the foundation was put together. I have to admit that I usually use a matching or toning cotton twill to make the foundation layer on a gown like this. Be sure to make a toile first as you can then do all the real fitting before cutting the fancy fabric!

I have to say that I am struggling with making this at the moment and I am a very experienced dressmaker. DO make a toile!!! The pleats on front and back do not match at the side by about three inches!!!
