I’m celebrating my 40th birthday today! And in honor of this milestone, I’m giving myself the gift of allowing myself to buy some Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabric. Now the question is, what to sew?
I’ve looked through this site a bit, and checked out a few blogs and flickr groups to get some inspiration, but for some reason I’m not really finding much out there. I’d love to make a dress or skirt.
If you’ve worked with this fabric before and have a pattern that worked particularly well, or if something comes to mind when you think about this fabric, please let me know. I’m just getting back into sewing after learning the craft in 6th grade (oh so many years ago) so I’m a little out of the loop on the latest happenings in the sewing world. Please enlighten me!

Happy birthday :) I’ve used Liberty lawn for dresses (Vogue V7848) and shirt dresses (Vogue V8028). I think it’s best for summer shirts, blouses and summer skirts, it’s very light to wear but generally doesn’t need lining. It’s easy to sew but I’d recommend making a practice garment first only because Liberty is expensive. It’s beautiful fabric, hope you enjoy wearing and sewing with it!
