My room in Germany is so very very white and I’m a really messy person so everything is all over the place… so I was thinking of ways to spruce up my room as well as tidy up and thought of those fabric boxes that you can get at Ikea.

I wondered though, would it be too difficult to make those? I found a tutorial online that detailed making fabric boxes, but I also wondered if perhaps there was a way of making collapsible ones? This would make packing a great deal easier for me at the end of this year – I don’t want to make them just to leave them behind!

If anyone could help, that would be great, I’m finding it hard to get my head around how I could achieve this.

Why not make them like the fabric box instructions, but use a soft interfacing and keep them open by using plant canes in little rod pockets at the corners and the top? You could cover sonme card and give them stiff bases that way, or doo like the IKEA Antonius fabric drawers, and slide a base stiffener into a pocket in the box base.
