I will be travelling to Barcelona and Seville later this year. Any suggestions for good fabric shops. Also interested in shops for comfortable shoes.

    Hi!

I live in Madrid, but I may give you some advise on these issues: - Rives y Casals is a good fabric store that has shops both in Madrid and Seville, I usually buy there.

About shoes, I would look for these brands: - Camper: which you may surely know, they make nice and comfy shoes. Althought a bit overpriced. - El naturalista: they are spanish shoe makers, and they are sold in many shops. - Hakei: they are spanish shoe makers and distributors (like Camper), they have more fashionable shoes and in my opinion better quality. - Bravo y Java: they are shoe makers and distributors, classic designs but nice ones. They sell their own designs and distribute others. They have shops both in Madrid and Barcelona. - Farrutx: Expensive but one of the best shoe makers in Spain, they have an outlet shop in Madrid, they may have an outlet in Barcelona. Check it. - 24 hours: this is the name of a spanish shoe maker, the shoes are so comfy that you may wear them all day long (I asure it is true).

Last but not least, if you feel a bit confused for all the listing or you don’t want to spend the whole day shopping try “El corte Ingl├ęs” you will find almost everything.

Well that is quite a lot of names, except for the “El naturalista” I have tried all of these shoppings and I can asure you nice fittings and quality, they are not the cheapest ones althought.

Well I hope you enjoy your stay in Spain!!

    Cheers

Thanks Laura. (I have been away from a computer!) As I live in a hottish climate lighter weight fabrics for clothing are what I am looking for.
