I was wondering if somebody could please give me some advice as to what type of fabric I should use.

I am after a satin / silk look (smooth, metalic look, shiny) and I found a fabic that had a big sign up saying polyester. When I looked at the tag it said 100% acetate. Is polyester and

I am making a formal dress and was wondering if this fabric would be okay to use. I want to make sure it’s a strong fabric and won’t tear as it will be quite tight on the body.

Are there any other suggestions on the type of fabric I can use ?

    If you want to make the garment very fitted or corset like, make sure you have a good strength layer of something along the lines of coutil or cotton drill in behind the fashion layer. Then you can use whatever you like as your fashion fabric.
