Sew the back panel of the placket to the front panel with the points meeting.
Fold the placket in half, wrong sides together, all the way round.
Match the back placket to the jacket back, and the center of the front placket to the center back neck edge, lining up the side seams neatly. Ease together all the way round, pinning evenly.
Sew it on using a stretch sewing technique or the overlocker/serger.
Finish and press gently.
I made a couple of these back when the pattern was free, on the old Burdastyle website. There was quite a discussion about it, and people were having problems, but my explanation and the discussions don’t seem to have transferred over.
