I just made a circle skirt with exposed elastic waist, but I’m having a little issue due to the difference between my hips and waist. When I pull on my skirt, I can hear thread popping/ breaking when going over my hips. Any advice on what I can do to fix this? If I make the elastic bigger, it won’t fit my waist nicely, but I concerned about all the snapping threads each time I pull on my skirt. Any advice would be super helpful :)

Did you sew the elastic on with a zigzag or a straight stitch? A multi-step zigzag stitch or a serpentine stitch is usually recommended in sewing instructions because it works like a concertina and doesn’t break when you pull it.
