Hi I recently downloaded a trouser pattern, im trying to draft the waistband pieces that arent included and am struggling to make sense of what its asking me to do???

b) right waistband, 40-42-44-46-48cm (15 3/4-16 1/2-17 3/4-18 1/2-19ins) long, left waistband with 3cm (1 1/4in) underlap, 43-45-47-49-51cm (17-17 3/4-18 1/2-19 1/4-20 1/4 ins) long, each 6cm (2 1/2ins) wide, finished width 3cm (1 1/4ins)

If anyone would be kind enough to help me make sense of this i would greatly appreciate it!!

Thank you x

    It means:

Right waistband: For the smallest size, make a rectangle 40cm+3cm (for underlap) long by 6cm wide. For the next size up, make the rectangle 42cm+3cm long by 6cm wide.( And so on.)

Left waistband: For the smallest size, make a rectangle 43cm long by 6cm wide. For the next size up, make a rectangle 45cm long by 6cm wide. (And so on.)

Add seam allowances all around (usually 1.5cm, but the same as you used on the trouser waistline.)

    I hope that help. :)
