I found a dress I really like (link below) but it’s too expensive and they’re out of my size. I’m trying to recreate it, but I can’t seem to figure out what the fabric used for the slip is, or something that would give a similar effect.

I’ve bought a pattern that I’m going to adapt and the polka dot tulle stuff for the outer layer, but I need help with the slip fabric. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks so much!!!

Oh, and I was looking at the sleeves… Do you think making bias tape out of the remaining slip fabrics would be OK for finishing them?

Is it stretchy fabric do you know? A silk jersey fabric would work if it is or normal silk if it isn’t

Looks like silk crepe and flocked silk chiffon to me. Not the easiest fabrics to work with, but yes, a self bias binding in the crepe would work perfectly.
