Hello, I am working on my first project from Burda Style Magazine and am having trouble understanding the instructions for the Wrap Blouse (#116). I can’t seem to wrap my mind around the process for making the tie band opening in the right side seam, and then sewing up the right side seam in a French seam. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

I cannot find the pattern you have mentioned, do not have that issue of magazine. Go to Website Help located on lower right, open Customer Support post your question there.
Although I have done many wraps where they are usually marked with Dots to leave slot opening for belt to slide through, I am not familiar with this pattern.
Hoping another member has more information or Customer Support can help.

Sometimes the instructions sound more confusing than they really are and if you do each step of the process one sentence at a time it becomes clear, whereas reading the section as a whole is REALLY confusing.
To me, it sounds like there is a mark for the opening on the pattern so you fold and iron the seam allowances between those markings to the inside, fold the raw edges under and sew it in place on both the front and back pieces but make sure that the ‘fold’ extends slightly beyond the marked openings, tapering it so that when you then do your french seams to join the side edges above and below the opening, it will catch those tapered edges in it and give you a neat finish.
Don’t give up, the more you do, the more easy the instructions are to follow (or the more you find your own way of doing things :-) )
