I feel like I’m losing my mind. I’m new to sewing so there’s a good chance this is a learning curve issue…

I’ve destroyed two yards of fabric now trying to cut the pattern for the Charlie bag. The pattern calls for 3/4 of a yard. But there doesn’t seem to be any way to actually cut this pattern out with even a whole yard—no matter how the fabric is folded. Am I nuts? How does this work? I’ve read and reread the instructions, watched the how to video, zoomed in on pictures, I just don’t get it.

Have you checked your test square sizing (page 8 of the print out) to make sure the pattern printed out at the right size?

How are you folding your fabric? you should fold your fabric horizontal wise where the two edges meet in the middle
