Hello,
maybe somebody can help me with a small problem.
I just got the new burda from February 2013 and I see that 2 from the models i would like so much to make are in petite sizes.
This patterns are a little bit more difficult to change due the pleats on the side.
So my question is: where should I adjust the skirt and the dress for to get them to normal patterns size

Looking at this skirt and dress, personally I would adjust in the normal places bust, hip waist etc where ever you need it to fit your own body measurements. 1. measure the pattern in the key areas bust, waist, hip how far off is it from your own body measurements? 2. work out how many inches you need and where divide that by 4 ( 1/4 of each measurement needed for back and fount) 2. add in what’s needed to fit you and then add in what’s needed for your gathers/pleates and your seem allowance. I would not treat the pattern any differently in terms of the technique and places I would adjust to fit my body for any other dress or skirt.
You will need to redraft it in places to make it bigger, so some paper placed behind the pattern and redraft to expand it is what I normally do and it works out OK.
Good luck!
