I’m making the long sleeved wrapover top with tieband waist that’s in this month’s Burda magazine in white but didn’t have quite enough jersey left to make the sleeves so decided to do them with some stretch white lace I’ve got.
My problem is, I can’t decide what would look best between :
1. just have the sleeves in the lace and the rest in the plain white jersey
2. do the sleeves in lace and also cover the wrapover jersey part in lace but keep the tie waistband in plain jersey
3. sleeves in lace, and all the rest in the jersey covered with the lace (my problem with that is I’d have to patch some bits of the lace together to have enough to cover the tie band and I’m worried it might look a bit too much)
4. scrap the sleeves altogether and just do the sleeveless version in the jersey

I don’t usually have a problem deciding these kind of things but even draping the relevant pieces on me/on my tailor’s dummy isn’t helping this time so I figured maybe someone with a “designer’s eye” for this kind of thing might be able to help?

Lcs sleeves and the rest plain is the IN THING at the moment. Why not go with the flow?

Okay, decision made, thanks Kate. My boyfriend said the same as you so we have a consensus – I shall go with just the lace sleeves :-)

Remember to post it when it’s done! It sounds really pretty.
