Hello,
I have three patterns (children’s dresses) which recommend the use of jersey with body or wool jersey.
I am wondering if I can use 100% cotton or homespun instead?
Cheers

Jersey has stretch to it so you’d probably have to make sure the cotton had stretch too. Difficult to say for sure without knowing which patterns you’re planning on using but it should give some guidelines for recommended fabrics somewhere with something like “use only stretch fabrics”, “fabrics with some body”“fabrics with lengthwise(and/or crosswise) stretch” etc

There is cotton jersey with the same stretch out there too. Patterns designed for stretch have negative ease for the most part, so you will need to add ease if using a non stretch fabric. You can also use a polyester jersey that has body.
