I am still a basic sewer and doing some courses at the moment to build up skills, but in the long run I really want to be able to make some fabulous lingerie! I may not have whole skill set yet, but if anybody could recommend me some good books with info on the kind of fabrics that are best to use and maybe even some patterns, i’d be super grateful :D xx
Thanks!

I looked a Dutch lingerie making forum and this is what I found for you.
When it comes to bras, “The Bra-makers Manual” from Beverly Johnson seems to be a very good book. When it comes to other lingerie items, “Lingerie Secrets” from Jan Bones seems to be a good book.

I’ve seen many patterns here – http://www.lekala.co/women-sewing-patterns/lingerie-undergarments.html?dir=desc&order=sku – but I never tested their bras, only nightdresses.

I purchased off Amazon a year or two ago this technical pattern making book (not sure if it is still available) “Patternmaking for Underwear Design” by Kristina Shin, Ph.D. ISBN 1451511590. I haven’t had the chance to use it yet, but it is quite technical in the way that the “Metric Pattern Cutting” by Winifred Aldrich books are. Also purchased from a local technical bookshop many years back “Pattern Cutting for Lingerie, Beachwear and Leisurewear” by Ann Haggar ISBN 0632020334. Both of these books are more targetted at advanced sewers, i.e. no real assembly instructions – pretty much straight patternmaking.
