I want to make the Harrison Mandarin Collar Jacket in corduroy for my husband. I know the corduroy should run lengthwise on the jacket, but which way should it run on the collar, up and down, or sideways?

The collar is usually cut out on the fold of the fabric. This would mean the nap would run up and down, the same as the body of the jacket.
