I don’t sew a lot of garments, but now I’m in trouble – my daughter’s best friend wants me to help her make an Asian style sheath dress for an upcoming Cosplay conference. It’s Burda 8438, a short sheath dress (view B). http://www.simplicity.com/p-7255-burda-style-dress.aspx.
It’s a little beyond my skill set, I think. I can’t get past first base – the size chart that comes inside the pattern says that someone with a 39" bust (like her) needs to cut out the size 18 pattern. But the Burda chart online says that a 39" bust is a size 12! http://www.burdastyle.com/statics/size-chart.
What am I missing here? Any help would be appreciated!
I too was hesitant, but now am an enthusiastic convert. with print your own patterns.ht…
There is a transparent grid ruler you can use to add seam allowances.
Thank you for that information. Do you know if the issue can be downloaded electronical…
Burda patterns are known to be better fitting in that armholes on tops tend to be highe…
The sewing course reference would refer to the issue’s pattern pages having more detail…
