I was wondering if there is a method to make a bias cut piece of pattern not to hug the body as much at a certain spot. See I’m making this dress for a wedding, and if I hadn’t already bought the fabric I would choose to make another one. The dress hugs my muffins too much and ruins my appearance. Is there anything I can do to spot reduce it’s effect?

Hi. I can’t help with any cutting hints I’m afraid, but try getting some ‘magic pants ’ – lycra control under wear. From personal experience, get some that extend up to the bottom of your bra so there are no lumps at the waist. They smooth out those muffins and let the bias cut drape attractively. I’m sure you’ll look lovely.

Can you provide the pattern name and number? Maybe looking at the picture will help.
