Hi guys, total newb-sewer and in the midst of Halloween sewing. I am making a 20’s style dress for DD, I am interested in applying what is a 1 inch wide, wavy, sequined (it really is just rows of black sequin attached to heavy thread), non-elasticized trim to a flounced sleeve. The garment is made of a a very slippery fabric and I am trying to determine the best way to attach the trim.
Should I hand sew it directly to the fabric? Would it be better to sew the trim, which is somewhat flimsy to a stabilizing fabric and then apply it?
Looked for a tutorial and can’t find one. Appreciate your advice and wish everyone happy sewing!
Chris

Sew it directly, by hand. A pig to do, but sequins are like that.

you’ll get the best results by hand. i would come up through one sequin’s hole and then down a neighboring sequin’s hole.
other than that, you can try glue, but you prolly won’t be satisfied with the results. if you do glue, use one that dries clear, and small amounts of it.
