It looks like several pieces and each is folded in half rather than the kind of ruffles I’ve done up til now which are like one long curly snake pattern piece.

    I may be wrong but these look like very wide flounces to me (your curly snake pattern piece). Cut up some muslin or scrap fabric and give wide flounces a try. I’d love to know what the result is.

    I’ll have a go at a doll’s size and play around with the effect. Thanks for the suggestion, will let you know how it works but it’ll be a couple of weeks or so off as going away for hols :-)
