http://dresssafari.com/dress/something-blue-oscar-de-la-renta-2013/ This Oscar de la Renta dress from his 2013 bridal collection is just stunning and I was wondering, does anyone know how you would recreate the ruffled train on the back? It looks like several pieces and each is folded in half rather than the kind of ruffles I’ve done up til now which are like one long curly snake pattern piece.

I may be wrong but these look like very wide flounces to me (your curly snake pattern piece). Cut up some muslin or scrap fabric and give wide flounces a try. I’d love to know what the result is.

I’ll have a go at a doll’s size and play around with the effect. Thanks for the suggestion, will let you know how it works but it’ll be a couple of weeks or so off as going away for hols :-)

They look like a variation of the circular ruffle.
