I purchased the Cute Christmas Girls dress and blouse pattern 152/153/154 without carefully checking the US size equivalent. Now that I have printed the pattern I see that the smallest size is a 110/5(US). My grandaughter that I am sewing for is usually a size 3 (US) pattern. Looking at the Burda size chart she would better fit the size 92/2. Her chest size is 20", Waist 21" and Hips 22". This is my first pattern sewing with BurdaStyle and I also noted that you have to add 5/8’ seam allowance to cutting out material. How can I easily convert this pattern to her size or should I just forget it. I really wanted to make the blouse and sleeveless dress right away! I don’t have her available all the time to size and fit. Please advise!

To make it smaller (“grade it down”)…
All the corresponding points on the different sized patterns are in a row. i.e. the shoulder points are all in a row, the neckline points are all in a row, the waistline notches are all in a row. To find the next size down, you place a ruler along the corners on the pattern so that you can draw a line connecting all the shoulder points (or whichever point you are doing at the time). Measure the distance from one point to the next, and mark a new point that much in from the smallest size. When you have done this for all the points, you have a dot-to-dot pattern that you can draw. If it is right, you will have that pattern piece a size smaller.
