Why does this waistband seem so tiny? I can follow the photos for 23 and 24 (though 23 seems so small, like 8" long! – how is this going to lay right?) but 25 (or 22 in the linked example) has me stumped.
25: Baste bands right sides together with side waistband edges (seam number 11) .
Turn waistband out on fold line.
Stitch side edges together, catching in bands (25a). Turn waistband, baste inside edge at joining seam and stitch close to edge.
