Can someone please explain what Burda means by “work from right fabric side to stitch vertical darts . . ., e.g., wrong fabric side is facing in when stitching”? I’m trying out 04-2011-106 (Patch Pocket Dress). The only thing I can think is that the dart is stitched “inside-out”, so the “innards”, the sliver that is usually in the inside of the dress, is on the outside. Does that make sense? Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!!

Does the photo of the finished garment give any clues? It sounds a bit weird sewing them from the right side of the fabric unless, as you say, it’s to create some kind of feature

I think ‘inside-out’ is indeed what they mean. Well, at least that’s what I understand:-)

The photo doesn’t show the darts clearly at all. I re-read and re-read the instructions again after I posted and checked out the line drawing. I think I get what Burda means now. The line drawing seems to show the darts on the outside of the dress, pressed to the center and top-stitched close to the dart seams. And when I re-read the instructions AGAIN, that’s exactly what they are saying to do. So, it does seem like it’s a feature. This is my first Burda Style Magazine project, and I’m just not used to working without the handy pictures to guide me!! Thanks for your advice!
