I wanted to sew something with sport mesh but I wasn’t sure if there needs to be a special needle or preparation or anything like that. Could anybody help me out?

I am not really sure about what you are talking.

Is it the nylon fabric that has round holes in it. It is a light knit. I have sewn it with a stretch needle and stretch stitch.

A serger/overlocker with stretch needles fitted is your best bet, but otherwise, a stretch needle and a narrow zigzag will do fine. Then neaten the edges together with a wider 3 step zigzag like this:
    /\ /\ /\
    / \ / \ / \
    / \/ \/ \

Ack! Why didn’t they stay lined up? There are 3 stitches in line on each of the zigs and the zags, anyway…
