Hi!
Recently I began to think I really want to buy a serger! :)
The problem is that there are so many sergers over the Internet so I got confused :S
I wanted to ask you – what type of serger do you use and is it recommended?
Is 600$ enough? I don’t want to buy something super-expensive,
but I want a good serger not only for beginners :)
Also I saw on amazon that most of the sergers cost 300$
but I don’t know if they are really good and if it is good to buy things like that in the Internet?
Thanks for the help!
Shira

The Brother 1034. My girlfriend who has a pricey Janome even said had she known how great this serger was, she would have happily bought it. just look at the reviews at Walmart. I have had mine for 3 years now, and it is just as good as ever.

Have you looked at the previous discussions of this topic? Take a look through them and see what people say… And have a read the sewing machine buying essay I wrote? http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk/On%20the%20care%20&%20Feeding%20of%20sewing%20machines/on_the_choosing.htm
I run a Brother 1034D along side my Bernina 1150MDA. You can tell where the extra cash went on the Bernina, but the Brother is an excellent machine, and has the free-arm feature I needed. It’s the one I recommend to serger newbies as you really can just plug and play with it.

Janome also has a model the magnolia-and the # just left me but it sells for around $200. and is an excellent machine. Comparable to the Brother 1034.

Forgot to mention that I did buy mine on Amazon. They have always been good to me about replacing/refunding everything, so I wasn’t afraid about something being wrong.
