I am planning a vintage style evening dress and want to make a net petticoat ( 50’s style ) using two layers of netting with lining beneath ( to avoid " catching " my stockings ) Can anyone recommend a link to make the net petticoat. I thought of making in a similar way to the peasant style skirts that I have in my projects Is this roughly the idea ?

Most of the petticoats i’ve made or come across are a fairly standard half or full circular skirt. I did actually catch one on the patterns here. It looked about the right style that you’re talking about. The other way you can help prevent stocking snag is to pre-edge your tulle/net with ribbon, then make up into the skirt. It’s a classy way to finish it, and you have infinate choice of colour variations!
