Hello, could anyone please give me advice on how to shorten the front of a wedding dress. The dress is all lace and the edges are a scalloped lace. I worked out that I can unpick the scalloped lace off but I am not sure if I should just star from left to right side and literally lift the lace up and sew back on, is there anything I have missed? The back is a train and its fine but the front is about 4 cms too long. thank you so much in advance.

Yup, that’s the way to do it! The top edge will also be shaped. Just lift it until the scalloped edge is where you want it to be and sew round the top edge with a small zigzag stitch, being careful not to stretch or distort the lace as you go. Then trim off any excess lace from the back.
