I recently got engaged and am planning to make my own wedding dress. I really love the layered chiffon flange skirts on some of Vera Wang’s dresses (such as this one).
I’d love to do something inspired by that, and was just wondering if anyone had any resources they’d recommend?

Congratulations on your engagement!! Few more for you to look at notice that many are strapless with a regular or sweetheart bodice on the front. They mention the fabrics on the gowns below that are draped, flange is using draping fabric folded at the edge, draping in this manner eliminates hemming the draping.
Suggestions: Use 1 inch seams on side seams and back of dress in case the fabric frays. Find basic strapless pattern with a waist, bodice and skirt to form the dress, use a good quality fabric, may need underlined, boning and add waist stays to support the bodice and lined for a professional look. Draping fabric in the chiffon, organza or organdy Fabrics I use Sullivan’s spray stabilizer or spray starch for easy handling of fabric always pretest the fabric with spray. You can find information for draping in some of the learning tools on this site or google for more information.
