i’m trying to sew a divider in my envelope bag. after 3 days of thinking and trying (on leftover fabric)
it still doesn’t work. I wonder what exactly am I doing wrong.

Is this link the the way it should be?

my envelope looks something like this

it’s kind of a flat bag if you know what I mean. (my english isn’t that good, hope that it makes sence what i’m saying.)

hope someone can help me.

thanks

Hi! Yes the tutorial is correct. I’m not sure why yours isn’t working. Have you used the same pattern as your bag to do it? Use the same pattern as your bag but cut it shorter, so it’s about 1.5cm lower then where the flap starts. Then after you put the zip in, just stitch it into the lining. Or are you having trouble with the zip?

      thank you for your comment.

The next day I went to sewing class. And it worked out fine. I was a bit confused by someone else ’s advice. (who was a bit of a “know it all” never made bags before)

next time I will just do it my own way. ;)
