do I prepare facings for the neckline, since pattern doesn’t include one? The dress is going to be used as a costume.

    The easiest way to do this is to trace the neckline on to tissue paper and then follow the same line about 4 or five cm below, at the shoulder edge remember to add seam allowance ready for when you sew the front and back facings together, this method also works for sleeve-less dresses/bodices. I’ve used thismethod on several occasions – particularly when I’m being lazy and don’t want to line a garment. T x x x
