i love burda style magazine, except for the fact it has virtually no men’s patterns. this has been my first hear with it, but i won’t renew due to lack of men’s patterns. so sad.

@rtmattox- *year I second the request for more men’s patterns. Something cutting edge like Ben Sherman’s last winter collection would be well appreciated, in the magazine as well as download/ paper pattern format.

Why is it that Mens Suit Patterns are more scarce than rocking horse poo????

Probably because people see men’s tailoring as much too difficult to do at home. This is no excuse for making fewer OTHER patterns for men, though.

Tailoring is far more structured than tailoring for women, but that just acts as a challenge as far as I am concerned… :D

I also struggle with patterns for my hubby, he’s not that tall but he’s quite wide and I know he’s not the only guy who is lacking nice clothes because they just don’t do plus size for guys. We have 2 shops here, one REALLY over priced and the other seems to think big guys only want to wear jeans and flannel shirts. My hubby used to have a great sense of style but after putting on the pounds he’s reduced to track pants and t-shirts. I try and alter shirt patterns for him but it’s a fair amount of work because guys tend to put weight on the belly not all over and it’s difficult adjusting anything with a nice cut for that allowance.
