Am I missing a trick or do the information boxes on the right of the webpage block some of the text that is in the topic description? For example, in the “Someone help me” forum there is a question about experienced seamstresses, in the responses is a link to a URL (http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk/KatePages/HowToGet/how_to_get_the_be) but the end of it is hidden behind the “Recent Posts” box so you can’t actually connect to it as it’s not complete. Is there a way of moving the “Recent Posts” that I’m not aware of as I’ve hit this problem a few times now?

    I noticed it too with this topic, the end of the link is hidden behind the boxes ont eh right hand side, even when I maximise the page.

    Using Chrome 15.0.874.120 m and it also happens with IE

    Try this, on the web page, right-click the link and choose Properties. Copy the URL to Notepad.

    This has been a regular pet peeve of mine as well.

      Have had this happen many times have tried your suggestion but not correcting the issue.
      Seems to be an on going problem.
      answers@burdastyle.com is a web page of people with other issues/topics not a defined place for a comment, such as this, maybe just me.

      The Web Links or URL provide help to all, frustrating when they cannot be used.

      Would like a Web Link/URL that would open automatically by clicking on the posted URL.

      Others and myself have requested a feature for automatic HTML or HyperLinks, Codes, Tags added to other areas of Burdastyle, e.g. Discussions, no information responses that were given worked,( they only seem to work on the site when projects are added).

      Just want to copy and paste sewing information in order to help others. The automatic HTML or HyperLinks, Codes, Tags are only available on Customer Support. Know they are probably overwhelmed with other issues, “answered most of these requests once and never returned to original request to completely answer when their advice fails to work”.

      Believe this would also shorten the length of URL correcting the link issues.

      LOL I know the complaint department is on the 20Th floor but could you pleeeeeeease pass this on to the right person.

      Agree on pet peeve.

    You bet, I will pass this on to the team.

    Also, just so you know we are a small group of 8 people. We try to address as many issues as possible and use an outsource company to address our major technical issues. I apologize for the lengthy times it takes to make the changes but we are working on these issues.

    Thank you very much for keeping these items on our mind and we don’t look at this like a complaint so much as a member who wants to make the site user friendly. Good job!

    I accidentally found a way to get it to work for me the other day… if someone else has posted a reply or the original “poster” has typed some more text after the URL, if you hi-light the URL AND some of the text that comes after it which is not hidden behind the text boxes (or some of the text of the other person’s reply) then you can copy and paste the link into your address bar and then just delete the extra text from the end. Not ideal i guess but at least it means I can open the links :-)
