Just completed the illusion 111 jacket. I cut the pattern according to my measurements (40). However after cutting the fabric and making up the shell I tried it on only to find it absolutely drowned me. Not only in the width but in the length too. I painstakingly recut the pattern and fabric pieces 2 sizes lower. I also shortened the whole thing by 4cm as it did not reflect the image on the pattern store. (I am a very average 5’4" ). All this effort paid off and I am now delighted with the final result. However I do feel that perhaps it should be stated in the instructions that this garment is a very loose fit and should be stated accordingly.

I think this may be the same jacket I’m working on. I’m trying to attach the band at the neck edge, but having difficulty. The outside edge of the band is much larger than the neck edge. What is the strategy for putting these together in a smooth, even seam? I feel a bit dumb, but am simply stumped.
