Just completed the illusion 111 jacket. I cut the pattern according to my measurements (40). However after cutting the fabric and making up the shell I tried it on only to find it absolutely drowned me. Not only in the width but in the length too. I painstakingly recut the pattern and fabric pieces 2 sizes lower. I also shortened the whole thing by 4cm as it did not reflect the image on the pattern store. (I am a very average 5’4" ). All this effort paid off and I am now delighted with the final result. However I do feel that perhaps it should be stated in the instructions that this garment is a very loose fit and should be stated accordingly.
