It’s been a while since i organised a sewalong here and thought it was about time we started something new.
A few ideas are:
Techniques-If there is a technique you are unsure of i will make a tutorial and we can sew along together.
Christmas-Yes that’s right! Christmas is not far away, maybe we need to get started on our Christmas presents sooner rather than later.
Pattern-We could choose one of the patterns and sew along together.

I’ve never participated in a sewalong but I’d like to!
I like the Christmas presents idea (it’s a way for me to sew without having the guilt of making so much clothes for myself :)).
Of course, I wouldn’t say no to making something from one of the patterns though… :)

I would love to join a christmas presents sewalong. I’ve been planning on doing most of my christmas gifts myself this year anyway.
I’m thinking about using the Tory and Charlie patterns for my gifts.
A pattern sewalong would be fine too.

I would do either. Kathy

it would be great to get the monthly sewalongs going again! Once Christmas is out of the way, i’d really like to work on a capsule wardrobe. For example, month 1: pants or skirt, month 2: top, month 3: jacket, month 4: dress etc so we could see how we all put different looks together? anyway keep up the good work!

What a great idea! My new years resolution in something similar. I find that after I make something I have nothing to go with it! So my new plan is to make two items that can go together at the same time, for example, a beautiful colourful top with a neutral skirt, then the next project is a more neutral top and funky skirt/pants etc…this way I will build up some great neutrals and funky items too :)

What about a decorations sew along? I have some really sweet little patterns for ginger bread men and bells that I am happy to share with an instruction set? Really excited now!

Wonderful! How about we go with the Christmas theme and post here about what we’re making for the festive season. Then when the new year kicks in we’ll get going on some monthly sewalongs. I LOVE jd98’s idea of a capsule wardrobe!
I’m giong to get started on some Christmas stockings this week, what about you?

Hey nikkishell!
Last year you posted an advent stocking project and would love it if you would repost it here on the new site. hint hint
I think I might actually have time to make it this year! Thanks so much!

I’ll try and post my first pattern/tutorial thing tonight. Just been going through patterns with mum. By the way, sew magazine has a nice couple of ideas (and a free pattern).

I have started making a Christmas stocking as well. I’m doing a little holly cross stitch on some vintage linen. I really need to get a wriggle on cos I wanted to make two of them.

I’d love to request a technique please.
Rolled hem on a sewing machine. I just can’t get the start right and any tutorials on this are really hard to understand.
