So I understand that Burda Styke is now owned by Burda Media.

The site has really died in the a@@$ lately. There are no new Burda Style patterns shown in the revolving main page section, just rehashed very old patterns/projects/

Have we lost the fantastic creativity from when the “girls” were running it?

Can we have a bit of an explanation and a projection as to how the site will be run and who by??

There is still heaps of member creativity going on, how about some from the site too!

Hello Burda Style. first of all i would like to comment on an Aprils magazine…. Finally, there are some more interesting patterns that were included with interesting details… For the last 6 years i’ve been subscribing to the magazine and then stopped because the patterns are so the same and very traditional. would you please work on the more sophisticated outfits, please give us some interesting designs…

I agree. The loss of the regular updating of ‘member project of the week’, the fact that featured members are only every second week if that, the smaller and less frequent and smaller ‘best of the month’ features, that sharing and celebrating of members’ creativity seems to have fallen down.

I completely agree, I just feel like there is no one behind the name anymore…I think the 30 or so days since freakusbzzz post and no response from anyone says a lot… :(

I spend much less time here than I used to…

I really miss the new pattern each Monday (paid or free) that first attracted me to this site and it would be great to get some info on what website bugs are getting tackled next (are we ever going to get decent forum software installed so the forum can actually function? My pet hate that I have written about so many times I’ve lost count), where is the site going? Just some honest “this is where we are at, this is where we are going” info would go a long way.

I followed Burda activities for a very long time. So many things have changed over the past decades. BUT nevertheless in my opinion the burdastyle.COM is one of the best sites for sewing creativity. I can compare it to the german version, which is truly one of the worst!

If the creativity here seems to go down its up to us to keep it here.

And I never ever had any illusions about the fact that this site was installed from Burda (who founded the sewing divison back in the 1940s) to make money, and that is ok for me.

Burdastyle was former called burdamoden and has always been owned by Burda Medien.

BurdaStyle is an internal start-up site within the Hubert Burda Media company and has been owned by Burda Media since the site’s inception. BurdaStyle is constantly evolving to offer the community an enhanced user experience and in doing so, appreciates user feedback for suggested site improvements. Thank you for expressing your concerns and suggestions. It is your feedback that allows us to continually improve the site.

Based on member feedback, we began to highlight and feature more content from our existing pattern collections – posting old favorites as well as new patterns on a weekly basis from BurdaStyle Magazine. BurdaStyle.com produced a collection of patterns from mid-2009 through early 2010 that is still available on our site. Starting in 2010, we were able to share a larger assortment of downloadable PDF patterns from BurdaStyle Magazine with the community. It is our intention to feature these older patterns, possibly overlooked or never seen by newer members, as well as share new content. New patterns are posted on a regular basis, usually at the beginning of each week. In case you have missed some of the latest new patterns, you can view them on our blog under Editor’s Pick, http://www.burdastyle.com/blog/departments/editors-pick. In addition to the homepage, we also announce new pattern content via our weekly newsletter.

The creative and active member community is integral to the site’s success. The Best of Burda Style section, http://www.burdastyle.com/gallery/by/best-of-burdastyle, featuring hand-picked member projects from each month can be found in our Gallery, along with slideshows from featured member articles and submissions to competitions hosted on the site.

Again, thank you for expressing your concerns and suggestions. Your feedback continues to inform the team in making improvements as well as offering new features.

    Your Community Manager, Jillian

I may be oldfashioned, but I believe that the creativity we get out of BS is directly related to the creativity we put into it. We are lucky to have a team of people at the “office” to help keep the site "poppin’ ". They are always asking for feedback, and their past record shows they are pretty responsive to our feedback … our own “sew4my3” makes sure of that! But ultimately, the creativity of the site is a result of our own image and effort, not theirs.
