Burda Style For people who sew

One of alisondahl’s recent blogs focussed on a text description of our sewing rooms/spaces. It was suggested that it would be fun to group photos of our different spaces together somewhere. Here is a different idea. Why not add a section under “My Studio” in our profile space for putting up photos and explanatory text about our sewing room/spaces? It is, after all, very much a part of our “profile” as a sewer/designer. Add a section called “My Sewing Room” within the “My Studio” area, above My Projects and My Techniques, that one can click on to go into a description of one’s sewing space – it can be organized like a “Project” and hence use exactly similar structures as those already used!

In the mean time, I might add my Sewing Room simply as a “Project”, but it is subverting an existing service towards a different goal!

  i love this idea :) just yesterday I was picking up some serger cone threads at my local Joann’s when i walked through the sewing furniture! oh my, there was a catalog there with many sewing room ideas that totally inspired me to redecorate my own space! [too bad i’m starting college as pre-med next year and i’m completely broke so i can’t afford it :( ] i would love to see everyone’s room or space :) after all, it is a big part to all of us here at BS :) great suggestion!

    have a loock at my pictures of my sewing room,, you might like them,, if you have as much “junk” as my husband calles it with this system you can be busy and organised at the same time.

  Hi guys, We are working on posting a slide show or presentation featuring our many user’s various sewing rooms or spaces. We are troubleshooting exactly how we are going to present this to the community, but in the meantime, anyone who wishes to submit photos of their sewing rooms can do so by following these directions:

  Take a picture of your space & email it to: alison@BurdaStyle.com

  Size: 300dpi Width: No Less than 600pixels wide Include: Name Location Optional Description, 350 words or less

  *If you don’t follow the guidelines I will not be able to post your sewing room, so please make sure to double check the specifications in order to show us your loved space! Okay? :)

  How cool would this be as the perfect getaway sewing room? I would make mine a little bit bigger, maybe twice as long but if you designed the inside quite cleverly that would be all you needed, well for me anyway, I know some girls who would need a whole one just for their fabrics :)

  What about two floors? A sewing room on one and a room for supplies on the other … LOL
