Would it be possible to edit and/or delete discussion posts? I just replied to a topic that I immediately after realized had been answered somewhere else, and I wanted to delete it so it didn’t push other, unanswered, questions away from the “new posts” box, but couldn’t find any ways to delete it.
Also, on the subject of discussion forums, I found the adding of new topics a little strange. It’d be more intuitive to be able to enter a category and add topics directly without having to select forum in a drop-down menu. Maybe no the biggest issue, but I think it’d definitely make the navigation easier.
(Edit – Apparently I can edit this “start of a thread” post, but not a reply-post)

I would also like to be able to edit/delete my posts. I hate seeing my typos writen in stone after the fact.

I would love to have an edit button.

I’ll also throw my two cents in as a person who spells horribly that edit or delete would be excellent

I miss the edit button too, I often read back what I have written and realise that I have not got it right. I also miss the script for adding links etc.

Hey Everyone, We have taken note of this and will be taking this into consideration for future changes. Thanks for the input!

I like the edit feature as I often will want to correct myself to make sure that my posts are really clear to people reading them.
Some people might want to delete their posts totally. That could be because they posted up in the wrong section.

Please, add back the “Edit” function. I mis-spell quite a bit. I usually catch them but not always. Mickeygirl is right on target. I have an annoying habit of entering the same word twice, AND mis-spelling it. =( Not a good deed. One misplaced or incorrect word can ruin a perfectly good answer. Cordially, Nehmah

I replied to a comment on one of my creation and this comment , for some reason, got posted three times. There’s no way to delete two of those to have the answer appear only once. I think an Edit/Delete post option is a must and a hasty one. It’s been said during the beta testing. Althoug, I noticed the site is still named “beta”. So is this a prolonged beta testing (explanded to all members) or this the “real” site?

Same thing happened to me, I got a triple posting of a reply I made to a comment! And it was a long comment, so it takes up a lot of screen real estate!

I’ll add myself to the list of “please give the edit button backers” – I’m quite shocked that it’s not here – I’d rather have that than the report as inappropriate button… I figured it was a bug on the beta site.
It’s basic functionality the developers should have built in and should be raised as a change request with them – along with a bunch of other things – rather than waiting (months and months and months I’m guessing) to the next upgrade.
No offence meant to you Alden, I’m just using the site a bit more these days since the upgrade and noticing many simple flaws in the design which make the site so much less usable than the old days. The developers should be stepping up to the plate and fixing these things!
