Great idea, I seem to remember that for a while a few years ago (2007 maybe?) Burda magazine had a modern version of a pattern based on a past Burda design each month. I really enjoyed this feature, maybe the website could take it up again and expand on it like you suggest.

i have the burdamagazin in german from 1967 on for about 30 years complet for every month (that is what my mother has passed on to me after her sudden death last year). these magazins are such an inspiration for me! the idea of doing every month a vintage pattern is great!!

I love this idea! I have a few Burda magazines from the 70’s & 80’s that would be fun to revive some of the patterns.
This idea is really a good one that will be brought to the teams attention. Thanks and happy sewing!

Also LOVE the idea! I just emailed it to Dagmar Bily and Anke Kotten, the editor-in-chief and assistant editor-in-chief respectively of the print magazine.

This reminded me that I used to have at least 100 issues of Burda magazines that dated from 1978 to 1989. Few years ago I threw them away, and now I really regret it…. Silly me!

I used to love the ‘Burda International’ quarterly mag. Does anyone know why it’s stopped being published? thankx

I just bought about 10 Burda magazines from the 60s, I am so excited, I will try to find more at my local antique magazine shops.
