There seems to be a distinct increase in comments posted that are advertising links (example today is the “escort services” series listed under the article on hand sewing a rolled hem.)
I think part of the reason is that you allow them to be MARKED inappropriate, but then they STAY there! If they were automatically removed or struck out – with something like “this has been marked inappropriate” – so that a genuine post could be countered and reinstated if necessary, it would be better.
It’s all well and good having the very annoying “I am not a robot” captcha, but we’re still reading these links in posts. Get rid of them and you’ll get rid of some of the trolls.
IMHO.
