hey! I’m getting nervous here! I’m trying to connect my Jennifer blouse creation with its pattern because it lost its relation when changing into the new site.. So I went to the edit page of project, and clicked the “My project is based on an existing project or pattern on BurdaStyle” option, and so a “Project name*” option appeared and then when I write Jennifer #6018, or just Jennifer, or just the number or whatever and clic UPDATE, an error windows opens up saying I must select at least one project… and that’s what I’m doing!! ??
please help me because I’m loosing it with the new page…
also many of my comments at the creations got lost (and already posted at the forum about it)
thanks

Hi Lala86,
Type in Jennifer slowly. As soon as you see the suggestion appear below (in the yellow field that pops up, click on it. Once you click on it, you will see the Jennifer added up above it. Now you can hit update.
Try that and let me know if it works.

It does not work.. :(
I did it when I uploaded the project back in june at the old site, I wrote Jenn.. and so the hole name would come up but it does not work for me now.
I’ve seen other members could relate new projects to old patterns recently, but I don’t know what’s wrong with mine..

It has been a while since I uploaded a project and since I did, the site has changed and we have the new all singing, all dancing … only I don’t find it does. I really liked the site before the changes, especially the feature ‘view all’ when I looked at another member’s creation. That doesn’t seem to be available now, unless I am missing it (quite possible). This means that in order to view all the thumbnails of one project, I need to click on each one in turn and then have to use my browser’s ‘back’ button several times in order to return to the original page I was looking at. Messy.
In addition, I am having great problems trying to upload my own project as I get an error message for the ‘credits’ part of the form that says * Project credits is invalid
Does it have to be in a certain format? All I want to put in is a Simplicity pattern number.
I remember before the new site was released, the creations form was MUCH simpler and so user friendly and a credit could be something like ‘my husband for taking the snapshots!’ If I try again, the form loses the images I am trying to upload, so then in addition to the original error, I also get * Base Project requires at least one image
Please can anyone help and tell me what I am doing wrong? The saying ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ springs to mind here. Sorry for the grumble, but I am experiencing major frustration!

Hello Costume Lady! You can find the pattern your looking for on the old site by going to : http://old.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/3838 and I will send this missing pattern in to the powers that be. Thanks for the information and I hope this helps!

Hey Apvolek21,
What browser and operating system are you using? once we know that we can look into the problem. Also what is the name of your project?
Sep 5, 2009, 01.34 PMby Alden
Hey everyone,
Let me know what browser and opperating system you are using, as well as if the project has instructions on not. Once we find all of that out we can trap the bug much more easily

Hello — you will see my comments at the bottom of the page — I’ve been trying for 3 days now to upload dialogue and 5 photos – when I press "Continue " Up pops a box telling me I have to have one project – Yet I’ve gone through and through it repeatedly using firefox and internet explorer. Since at the top of the form it asks for a project — then again after I’ve filled in about it being a Burda design I tried leaving one out — doesn’t work !! How time wasting and frustrating !

When posting projects, do they have to be Burda related (patterns) or can I upload my projects even if they are my own creation or a mix of different patterns (including non burda).
thank you

Hey Lmarcig,
They don’t have to be related to Burda or BurdaStyle patterns, you can upload projects it they are your own or other pattern companies

Dear style members – I have been trying to publish my project for the last week but after hitiing the ‘PUBLISH’ button on the website nothing appears to have happened and the status hasn’t changed. I tried to email to burdastyle.com using the contact page but taht came back ‘noreply@burdastyle.com’.
The project page appears to be completed correctly. I thought it may be to do with the old website burdastyle.co.uk so I deleted the project from there but it still isn’t working.
Any ideas anybody ?
Cheers frustrated.co.uk

Hi Jasmine,
Can you confirm the following:
Projects need to contain at least one picture, For those with a pattern there needs to be at least 1 step.
If you have done this and are still having problems please let me know!

Hi Alden, Yes I had 2 pictures and the pattern I used was the estelle bag by fashion1. So I wasn’t trying to upload a pattern, but put a link in for fashion1 in the credits. Also now I keep getting a windows explorer pop up on this site only telling me there is a script running and would I like to stop it as it will slow the computer down. I have pressed yes to stop and no don’t stop and it hasn’t made any difference..Just keeps coming up now and again. I will try and upload a project this weekend..I got sick of typing the same thing again and again! :)
Thanks for your reply

Just tried publishing a project for the first time. All went well until I hit “edit” to upload my photos in a different order. Now the photos don’t show up when I click on the project. The first photo still shows up if you’re just looking at My Studio, but when you click into the project for details, there are no thumbnails. The code is half visible, and I can see something cycling through on the left next to them. The first time round (before the edit, which worked perfectly), the photos were the exact same size. I’ve tried getting them straight from iPhoto, off my desktop, via Firefox and Safari. I’m on Mac OS 10.5.8.
http://www.burdastyle.com/profiles/threadsquare/my_studio Continue into the Pencil skirt project to see what I’m talking about.
Humprf!!!

Anyone? I’ve tried half a dozen times or more to get my images up on my project. They’re saved as 72 dpi (screen res), about 1mb, 588 × 783, which is completely reasonable. I’ve never encountered this problem when adding an image to a website, blog, gallery before.

HELLO EVERYONE
I have worked hard to make a garment for the scarf dress competition – to discover it is not open to UK residents — still I thought it might be of interest to others — BUT I CANNOT GET IT TO UPLOAD AND HAVE TRIED MANY TIMES — IT KEEPS TELLING ME TO CHOOSE AT LEAST ONE PROJECT — WHAT IS IT TALKING ABOUT ? THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AS EARLIER TODAY IT REFUSED TO ACCEPT MY USERNAME AND PASSWORD — SO I ALTERED ALL THAT — WHAT IS GOING ON AT BURDA ? !!

I just pick a bogus season and year and add a note about it in the project’s description.
“Season” and “year” should be optional. For example, I don’t have a “Fall 2009” line, and it’s quite unlikely that I will have “Spring 2010” designs :) .
Sep 26, 2009, 07.26 AMby Susisonne
Hi agn,
my problem is that I can choose “For” and “Season”, but there is no possibility to activate the fields “Difficulty” and “Season(Year)”. It I leave them blank I get an error information and I cannot upload my creation, so there is no chance to upload new creations. Perhaps anybody of the BurdaStyle team can help?

Hi Alden,
I entered all the info except “Difficulty” and “Season(Year)”. These two “info-boxes” do not work. But not regarding them leads to an error information and this is why I cannot upload any new creation. Hope you understand what I mean.

Also, when I go into edit, the photos are there, so I can click update etc, but still no photos appear on the creation page… :o(

The same thing was happening to me :( Photos sized and jpg’d correctly, visible on the upload and edit pages, but not on the actual project page. I still haven’t figured out what happened, but I did write to BS, and today when I logged on, there they are. I think the server is wonky…I couldn’t even send a message for days due to errors. Try writing to them.

HELP! I lost one pattern for my project!
I originally created the project, uploaded 6 pattern PDF files. Then I edited & re-uploaded those pattern PDF files several times over the past few days.
Today, I decided to incorporate all sizes into one pattern file, so the original six pieces become just two pieces.
I edited the project (click on the pink “Edit” button just above the “Main”/“Instructions” tabs), scrolled down to “Pattern Details” and clicked “Edit”, deleted the six original pattern pieces and created two new pattern pieces. Now only ONE pattern piece shows up in the project page!
If I edit the project (click on the pink “Edit” button just above the “Main”/“Instructions” tabs) and then scroll down to “Pattern Details” and click “Edit”, I do see BOTH pattern pieces!!!

I’ve posted a couple of projects before with no problems but this one just doesn’t seem to want to load correctly. When I view my project none of the images load. I’ve tried relinking them, deleting them, reloading them from a new file location… but none of this seems to work. Does anyone know what’s wrong?
Thanks in advance,

Ok — not to worry — I seem to have fixed my own problem by deleting once more and reloading. No idea what the cause of the problem was… maybe the server was reset. Thanks anyway!!!

I’m quite frustrated, my project loading page is not letting me “finish” It just pops up “You must select at least one project!” and only gives the “OK” button. Seriously just wanted to post my version of the Estelle bag. This is an awful way to end a project! With the “you can’t add it right now :p Ha!” from theinternet.
