Hi there. I made the Ute blouse and wanted to show the related pattern/project. But the list which appears on the project upload page is really strange. When I type “ute” everythin with “cute” or “minute” shows up, but no project with “ute”. I finally had to skip the “based on” section. Can you help?

Linking to a burdastyle pattern also does not work for me. When I type in the pattern name no suggestions are given. Even when I type it in how it is displayed on the page (with the according no.), it still does not recognize the pattern and keeps on telling me to give the pattern it is based on. Very frustrating!

Hi! Is the problem with linking to an existing project fixed? I’m trying to upload my Liz project and I’d love to give credit where credit is due. Thank you!

I just added my creation based on the Lydia pattern. When I was selecting “based on” – the basic Lydia was not one of my option and even when I typed in Lydia – the system told me that I must select one from the list. Any suggestions on how to link it properly?

I am also having this problem with my Larissa jacket. I want to connect to the pattern, but whenever I try to type anyting, no dropdown appears and I had to upload without linking. Please let us know when this is resolved. For the time being, I’ve just added a “credit” to the pattern page.

what browser/os are you using?

I’m using IE on Windows XP. I had MAJOR problems with Burdastyle’s new website when it came out. This seems to be the same kind of thing. I’ve tried on two separate computers (both IE and both WIndows XP) with the same problem.

This feature does not seem to be working yet. I tried to link my creation to the Maryy dress and there was no drop down menu. Let me know when it is fixed so I can give credit where credit is due. Thanks ladies.

I’m new here. I just published a couple of projects. I saw on the right of the publishing page a suggestion to add links with simple code. I’d like to do that but I have no idea how. Since I’m not listing detailed instructions for my projects, I’d like to provide the url for the page on my website that offers the free pattern and instructions. Can anyone help? I’d appreciate it.

The problem with the missing drop-down list is still here… i tried to upload a version of Popover Sundress, but cannot do it as “based on”. When I type in “Popover Sundress” by hand, the error “You must select at least one project” appears… please help, what should I do? Only add it as a"credit"?

Hello nhouse,
I have reported your issue.
Could you tell me which project you are trying to link yours to?
Happy sewing!

I made “Polka Tank” and I want to give credit to “Braided Neckline Tank” by the medusa and “braided top” by ichigogirl. I also made “My Men’s Shirt Remake” and I want to credit “Fluorescent Adolescent” by Marie Jose. I also made the “Azalea” dress but it is not posted yet. I would like to credit burdastyle.com. Thanks.

Hi, I’ve just added a project which I’d like to link to the Tikva Trench coat pattern. I’m having the same problem as many of the people above. Even though I typed ‘The Tikva Trench’ and other variations into the box, there were no options popping up to the right and it was even acknowledging I’d entered any text into the box. I look forward to hearing when this issue is resolved. Thanks

I’ve just went back into edit my project listing and managed to get the linking thing to work. All I did was type in ‘Tikva’ into the box and then pressed the return/enter button on my keyboard, then up popped ‘The Tikva Trench’ the name of the pattern, above the box. So mine is now linked. I hope this helps others solve their problem!

I uploaded this dress a couple of days ago and tried to link to the Red Triumph under the “based on” section, but the name didn’t appear in the drop down menu. Are there still issues with this feature or am I doing something wrong? I added a link to the project in my description in the mean time, but would like to get the “based on another BurdaStyle” project thing to work.

Hello analogue,
The “based on” section is if your project is based on a current pattern project available on Burdastyle. You did the right thing by linking to the other members project in your descriptions.
Happy sewing from your friendly burdastyle moderator!

Hello again analogue,
Let me double check my prior statement and I or someone in the office will get back to you on that.
Jan 21, 2011, 09.25 PMby rachelnyc
Hi analogue,
Sorry for the delay – only projects with instructions appear in the “Based-On” drop down. The idea is that to accurately base one project on another, you need the instructions to make it.
