I don’t know if anyone here has ever visited, but lately I’m kinda enjoying www.yourstylerocks.com. Basically its a small, but growing, community of persons who like to sew and design their own stuff. They have a regular competition where you’re given a theme and then asked to design something to fit it. The winner is chosen by votes from the members. And, best of all, the winning design is made up into an actual pattern that’s offered to everyone for free.
Now, I’ve been lurking on the site, just like on Burdastyle (shame!) for a long while, but i’ve only now plucked up the courage to submit something. I would love the support by your votes, and even if I don’t end up winning, I can tell you that the few free patterns they have up are worth the visit to the site. Check out the Eva Dress and the Celebrate Summer Dress.
I’m doing the whole jumping in feet first with this whole blogging thing, so if you’re of a mind, I wouldn’t mind your encouragement, suggestions or comments over on my own blog www.sewbouje.wordpress.com.
There, done! Whew! Now, I think I’ll leave you all alone.
