I just saw some picture shots from Pattern Magic vol 3 (Japanese book) on ebay. The book came out end of October. The focus appears to be on stretchy fabric or jersey. Either way, looks totally cool!

I am totally drooling.

Pattern Magic vol 1 is available in Japanese and English now.

Pattern Magic vol 2 is available in Japanese now and in English in Feb 2011.

Can’t wait to get my hands on Pattern Magic vol 3!

    Ohh I love these books, not that I have attempted anything from them yet but I hope to experiment a bit next year. How exciting that number 3 is coming out, thanks for sharing!!

      Pattern Magic 2 is the only one in English so far. Try Amazon or Etsy.

    i bought the 1st pattern magic in japanese, that was way before it was released in english. now i have both pattern magic in english both were bought on amazon.

    I work in a library so managed to borrow my copy from there. I love the Drape Drape japanese books too.

      Very cool book. Focus is on knit fabrics. Less of the angular construction of the other books. Some of the projects are much simpler in design, but very effective. I have made a handful and have incorporated some concepts into my designs.
      The only criticism I have of this book (and the others) is many of the unique shapes/ designs focus on the waist area. Fine if you are a skinny Japanese girl but can be unflattering to a size 12 woman.

    Yippee! I got the first two in English recently. I’ll probably never make any of the garments in them as they are, but the techniques are intriguing and can be adapted for all sorts of things… :)
