My father goes to Thailand every year, and he always bring back fantastic silk and raw silk (bur still shiny).
I now have quite a lot of silk, but as it’s a shiny luxurious fabric, I have no idea of what to make with it!

I mean, I could make a lot of party dresses, but I almost never go to formal parties!

Any idea for something casual?

I have night blue, turquoise blue, different greens, pink, orange…

    Lucky You!!!

My first thought would be a jacket. You could wear it with a pair of dress pants or with a pair of skinny jeans and heels for a more casual look. There is always a vest which once again could be worn for a special ocasion or with jeans. You could also make a handbag.

It depends on the weight of the fabric – I have made some very nice ( simple ) lingerie from lightweight silk – cool in the summer and warm in the winter – lovely ! Household soft furnishings , bags, Christmas gifts – like purses, phone holders, make-up bags etc ? Japanese quilting – patchwork – dressing gown ?

I would suggest silk wide leg or harem pants, fashionable and comfy

Short jacket with matching capri or short-leg pants. Casual dress-asymmetrical style Long tunic top Pant suit

Would your father want you to make a suit for himself? Just a way to say “thanks, Dad!”
