Im about to study Year 12 textiles and we have to make some sort of garment, i would like to use the Vintage Buttrick Pattern B4898 its a strapless dress, but i cant find it any where i need about a size 16 or 18!! any help would be greatly appreciated =) thanks

    Are you sure you’ve got the details right – I googled it and a 60s dress came up. Do you have a link to an image of the one you mean?

    I know this may sound really obvious…but have you considered searching out another pattern. I’ve always coverted this one:

    im pretty sure. the one i have is this one, its the top part that i love. But im not sure if it is the right size. im trying to avoid altering the pattern as we have a set time limit. but im quite confused as how i could find a simalar pattern. thank-you so much for helping!

    Very pretty dress! It’s not unlike the dress recently featured in a sew-along here at Burdastyle: It’s a halter-dress, but it’d work just as well strapless if you put boning in the top. The skirt is different too, but you should be able to either adapt the pattern yourself or use another skirt-pattern for that bit. Otherwise, ask your teacher how to. That pattern is available in multiple sizes and the sew-along instructions are very useful (they’re in the blog).
